Scotch eggs |
I know it's been a while since I've posted, so today I'd be sharing this super easy snack recipe. It can be served with any of your favorite dips or simply chilli garlic sauce!
You can keep your yolk runny or firm depending on what you like, there is no hard and fast rule! So let's begin:
INGREDIENTS:
- 3 boiled eggs (hard or runny)
- Quarter kg chicken/any other mince (you can require lesser amount depending on the size of eggs)
- 1 tsp salt or according to taste.
- 1 tbsp red chili powder + chili flakes if you like more spice.
- 1 tsp garlic- grilled or fried ( you don't want raw garlic)
- 1 tsp mustard paste
- Pinch of white pepper or black pepper
- 1 egg mixed with milk
- Bread crumbs seasoned with a little salt, pepper and oregano.
- Plain flour-4 tbsp
- Oil for frying
- You can add chopped, fresh coriander, green onion or parsley to the mince (optional)
METHOD:
- Dry your boiled eggs with a tissue paper.
- Mix all the spices( salt, pepper, red chili powder, cooked garlic, mustard) to the mince and mix well.
- Water your hands well and place some mince over your hand.
- Flatten it out.
- Place your boiled egg over it.
- Gradually try covering the egg with the mince.
- Now dip the ball into the flour.
- Then the egg wash,
- Then the bread crumbs.
- Now shuffle the ball back and forth in your hands until you get the oval shape.
- Now fry the balls for 10 minutes on medium heat, emersed half way in oil.
- Take it out when it's brown, evenly.
