So today I'm sharing this yummy Pakistani/ Indian recipe, BUTTER CHICKEN!!!!!! <3 <3
This is one recipe that you can swear by any time! I love this rich red color and the taste is too good!!
SERVES: 4
INGREDIENTS FOR MARINADE:
- 300 grams boneless chicken breast (cut into strips of cubes)
- salt
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1.5 tbsp of chicken tikka or tandoori masala
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tbsp of yogurt
INGREDIENTS FOR GRAVY:
- half kg tomatoes, chopped
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 tbsp oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 2 green cardamom (green elaichi)
- 2 cloves
- 3 green chilies
- 1 tsp garam masala powder (all spice)
- salt according to taste
- 1 tbsp red chili powder
- 1 tbsp paprika or Kashmiri red chili powder
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 3 tbsp cream
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tbsp garlic paste
- 10-12 chopped or ground cashew nuts (optional)
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- Quarter cup water
METHOD:
- Marinate chicken in the marinade for 20 minutes, then fry it till the color changes to brown.
- In a pan add oil and butter, then add cardamom, cloves for 5 seconds.
- Then add onions, cook till the color changes.
- Now add garlic and ginger paste, let it cook.
- Now add tomatoes, cook till 5 minutes.
- Now add water, cook further 5 minutes.
- Add salt and 1 green chili.
- Let the mixture cool down.
- Now blend the mixture and sieve it. (i'm too lazy to filter)
- In the same pan add some butter and oil.
- Add the remaining 2 green chilies and ginger paste.
- Now add the sieved mixture, cashewnuts and cooked chicken.
- Mix in the red chili powder, paprika,garam masala, lemon juice.
- Cook for 2 minutes.
- Now add cream and mix it up.
- Now garnish with extra cream and butter.
- Serve with roty or naan!
