Buttermilk fried chicken

 Hi everyone!
Today I'm really excited to share with you this yummy  buttermilk fried chicken recipe. It can be served as a steak with a cream sauce or in a burger! The best part about this recipe is that the chicken is soo tender and juicy every time! I have made this chicken several times but this time I added more spices and it tasted even better! My brother said that this was the best burger out of all those I made previously, so let's get started:


INGREDIENTS FOR THE FRIED  CHICKEN:

  1. 2 chicken breasts (pounded and sprinkled with salt and pepper)
  2. 1 cup buttermilk (milk + 2 tsp vinegar)
  3. Quarter cup of hot sauce
  4. 1 tsp mixed herbs (or thyme+ basil+ Rosemary separately)
  5. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  6. 1 tsp cayenne pepper or paprika powder
  7. 1/2 tsp garlic powder or garlic paste
  8. 1/2 tsp onion powder
  9. Salt
  10. Breading ( 1/2 cup corn flour+ 1/2 cup bread crumbs, salt, pepper, red chilli flakes)
  11. Oil for frying



Note : you can double the recipe for more amount of chicken.


INGREDIENTS FOR STEAK SAUCE:

  1. 1 tbsp butter
  2. Half cup cream
  3. Oregano + thyme + basil (dried)
  4. Black pepper
  5. Mozzarella cheese- as much as you prefer.
  6. Pinch of salt
  7. chopped olives or sauteed mushrooms

INGREDIENTS FOR BURGER:

  1. Burger buns-4 medium sized
  2. Lettuce
  3. Cheese slice
  4. Any of your favorite sauce

METHOD FOR FRIED CHICKEN:




  1. Mix milk with vinegar and let it stand for 5 minutes, this forms buttermilk if you don't have it available.
  2. Mix hot sauce and all other seasonings to buttermilk. Now add your chicken to the buttermilk and pour this mixture into an air tight container or a zip lock bag or a shopping bag. 
  3. Now marinate the chicken in the buttermilk for 5-6 hours in the fridge.
  4. Now take it out of the Fridge and dip it into your breading, then again into the buttermilk then again into the breading.
  5. Now fry this in hot oil. Till the chicken is fully cooked and golden.

METHOD FOR MAKING STEAK SAUCE:


  1. Add your butter to a non-stick pan, then add your cream.
  2. After mixing well, add herbs, pepper and olives.
  3. Mix again, then add your cheese.
  4. Cook till desired thickness
  5. Pour it over your chicken.
  6. Serve alongside pasta or rice.

METHOD FOR MAKING BURGERS:




  1. Cut your cooked chicken into a half.
  2. Assemble your burgers with ingredients mentioned before.
  3. Serve with fries.
