Creamy chicken and mushroom crêpes |
Hi everyone!! I hope you are doing well! I know I've been out of touch but today I'm sharing with you this delicious savory crêpe recipe which is a treat for your guests. Crêpe is a thin pancake, originated in France. This recipe is simple also you can use the filling recipe to make chicken and mushroom pasta or you can use the crêpe recipe to make nutella crêpes or banana caramel crêpes! So let's get started!
INGREDIENTS FOR THE CRÊPES:
- 1 cup of plain flour
- 1 cup of milk
- Pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp oil
METHOD FOR MAKING CRÊPES:
- Mix all the above ingredients with a whisk.
- Refrigerate for half an hour
- Lightly oil a non stick pan with a brush or tissue.
- Add 1 big spoon of the batter after removing the pan from the stove and spread the batter evenly.
- Cook for 1.5 minutes then flip.
- Now cook the other side for 30 seconds and take it off the flame.
- You can fill this with nutella or with any other sweet or savory filling of your choice.
- Serve hot!
INGREDIENTS FOR THE FILLING:
- 1 grilled, chopped chicken breast OR left over roasted chicken OR left over fried chicken.
- 1/2 a can of thinly sliced mushrooms ( I used slices but I recommend chopping them even smaller for better taste)
- 4 heap tbsp of cream
- 1 small chopped onion
- 1 tsp flour
- 1.5 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 4 tbsp milk/ 4 tbsp chicken stalk
- Dried Italian herbs
- Salt to taste
- Black + white pepper
- Red chilli flakes
- Cheddar (optional)
METHOD:
Shred your cooked chicken. (I realized that shredded chicken or very small pieces work much better)
- In a pan add butter, onions and mushrooms(finely chopped)
- Sauté them for 2-3 minutes.
- Now add garlic paste and mix well for a minute.
- Now add flour. Mix well again.
- Now add both milk and cream.
- Add in your spices and chicken, check if you want to add more.
- Let it thicken.
- Now add your filling to the crêpe and fold it.
- Enjoy hot!
NOTE: The number of crêpes from one batch depends on the size of the pan you use! Usually 8 small sized crêpes.
ALSO: You can add good quality shredded cheese for extra flavor.
